Chelsea are ready to cut their losses on Alvaro Morata and will demand £58million for the out of sorts striker, according to reports in Italy.

After axing Diego Costa last summer, Antonio Conte opted to sanction a club-record deal for the Spain international who made an impressive early impact following his move from Real Madrid.

Morata has found the going far tougher over the course of the second half of the season, however, and has slipped down the pecking order with Olivier Giroud, a January signing from Arsenal, finding his form.
