Jurgen Klopp has refused to elaborate on Zeljko Buvac’s absence ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League semi-final against Roma on Wednesday evening.
Buvac, who has been Klopp’s assistant at Mainz, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool, has temporarily left his role due to ‘personal reasons’.
Reports had initially claimed that Buvac was involved in a bust-up with Klopp and has left his post, but Liverpool insist that the 56-year-old remains employed by the club.
Buvac has also been linked with replacing Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.
