‘Man United are in for Toby Alderweireld’

‘Man United are in for Toby Alderweireld’

Man United & Toby Alderweireld

According to Goal.com’s Sam Lee, Manchester United are trying to sign Toby Alderweireld from Tottenham this summer.

The comments were made during a social media chat about Man City’s centre-halves.

Rumours surfaced last week linking John Stones with a move to Chelsea.

While Pep Guardiola has distanced himself from those Stones stories, Lee has commented that it’s United who are trying to sign a defender in the summer.

In a line which has set off alarm bells for Spurs and United fans, it’s been claimed that Alderweireld is likely to “go to United, they are in for him”.

Alderweireld, of course, is in a contract stand-off with Spurs. The Belgian has been frozen out of the starting XI in recent weeks.

How much would Alderweireld cost Man United? Spurs fans would hope to receive 50 million pounds for the centre-half.

Manchester United & Danny Rose

Could Man United end up signing two Tottenham defenders this summer?

Last week the Guardian recycled an old rumour, as Danny Rose’s move from Tottenham to Man United was again considered.

United are likely to invest in their backline as they hope to close the gap on Man City.

Matteo Darmien is set to leave Old Trafford, while it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Luke Shaw exit Man United as well.

Ashley Young, meanwhile, has agreed a one year extension to remain with the Red Devils.

The broadsheet reported that Jose Mourinho is also keen on trying to sign Rose from Spurs.

Rose, 27, is under contract at Tottenham until 2021.

This season he’s only made seven Premier League appearances for Spurs, and 14 appearances in all competitions.

Danny Rose is thought to cost around 50 million pounds.
