Arsenal board pull out of move for ‘self-absorbed’ Luis Enrique

Arsenal chiefs are reluctant to hire Luis Enrique, believing him to be a poor fit for the job, reports claim.

The former Barcelona coach is the bookies’ favourite to replace Arsene Wenger at the Emirates but senior executives are unconvinced about his credentials.

While he won the Champions League and La Liga during his time at the Camp Nou, Arsenal’s board are concerned his ‘self-absorbed’ approach would not fit in with their restructuring strategy,according to the Times.

His salary demands are huge, which is another factor that is dissuading Gunners’ chiefs from hiring him.
